The brief

My old studio director was buying into a new healthcare venture: a job board connecting GPs and nurses with medical practices across Australia. General platforms weren't serving the sector well enough. The brief was to build a brand and a platform that felt credible, professional, and purpose-built for the medical profession. I was the only designer on the project, working from a research brief synthesised by the business stakeholders.

The brand

GPhub needed to work as both a recognisable product name and a professional mark the medical community would take seriously. The visual identity needed to signal trust and specialism without tipping into clinical coldness. Teal was chosen as the primary colour: close enough to healthcare convention to feel appropriate, distinct enough to stand apart from existing platforms. The logomark pairs the GP letterform with a connecting device, reinforcing what the platform does: bring practitioners and practices together.

Designing for two users

The central design challenge was that the platform serves two distinct groups with different needs: medical professionals searching for roles, and practices advertising positions. The homepage search leads with a GP/Nurse toggle before location. Role type determines everything downstream, so surfacing that decision first reduces the steps that follow. Doctor profile pages were designed as professional records: personal summary, resume, career history, and education in one place. The intent was to give practices what they need to make a decision without having to chase candidates for additional information.

The listing experience

Job cards surface the details that matter most to practitioners at a glance: practice name, role type, location, and a short description. Enough context to decide whether to read further before committing to a click. The saved jobs view lets doctors track and manage applications in one place, keeping the post-search experience as clean as the search itself.

Testing and revisions

Wireframes and design prototypes were tested with users at key stages. Feedback from those sessions was used to direct revisions before designs were finalised. That process shaped how the search flow, profile pages, and job listing structure came together in the final output.
